Our brief was to create a complete living area on the roof terrace and also to design the lower pool terrace. For the solarium – The area was carefully divided into zones: living, dining, cooking & relaxing. Our aim was that from every “zone” the breathtaking views of the sea could be enjoyed. This is a truly multi-purpose area, a space to be enjoyed to the maximum. The living area mixes a jumble of ocean tones on the sofas, mixing the blue-grey sofa upholstery with scatter cushions in splashes of electric blue, zingy green and sky blue. All fabrics used are specifically for outdoor use. Chaptered by an exterior rug with a playful seagull design the finished result is inviting and accommodates many sun seekers! Delicately hidden behind decorative panels are exposed air conditioning units, which were unsightly but had to remain. Every surrounding wall was carefully considered and designed – either clad in contrasting metallic tiles, an organic “green wall” or simply featuring fresh plants sitting in bold pots – adding greenery & movement to the surrounding areas. The floor was decked in a bold zig-zag pattern which was custom designed – resulting in a unique informal look. The center of the space features a free standing “cooking island” fully equipt with a bbq, sink, fridge & storage facilities – a great social space to enjoy under the shaded canopy. Other areas to mention is the sun bathing deck – which we raised to give it an importance and also allow views to be enjoyed whilst lying down. The lower terrace below provides additional living & dining areas, practically shaded by the wooden roof. The oversized dining table was custom designed with a funky geometrical patterned base – a truly unique piece. Plus an extra sunbathing area overlooking the swimming pool.
